Paxon's operational model is quietly taking shape. Combining Active Ants' e-commerce expertise with Staci's strong local logistics anchoring, in less than eight months the two Bnode entities transformed a logistics site in Lyon (Pusignan) into an automated e-commerce platform for the coffee brands of Dutch company JDE Peet's, known for Douwe Egberts, L'Or and Tassimo. The project illustrates what Paxon stands for: entities working together and acting for their customers.
Active Ants and Staci are two complementary entities within the Bnode group: one brings automated processes and technology for e-commerce fulfillment, the other has a strongly entrenched omnichannel logistics network in France, Spain and Italy. Together, they offer an integrated end-to-end solution that meets the highest demands of e-commerce.
This collaboration model was first tested on a large scale in Lyon, through the rollout of a full e-commerce solution for Netherlands-based JDE Peet's (the group behind brands such as Douwe Egberts, L'Or and Tassimo), which had already partnered with Active Ants in Belgium, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
The choice of Lyon was logical: the Staci site is close to the customer's production site in Saint-Étienne, which helps optimize logistics flows and processing times.
The project was officially launched in 2025. To make this new activity possible, the site was completely redesigned. The customers historically present at that site were gradually transferred to other Staci sites between September and November 2025, with no interruption of operations.
Between December 2025 and January 2026, the site underwent an extensive transformation:
The site also features an automated packaging solution with personalized box printing and optimal box sizing.
Operations went live on Feb. 1, 2026, followed by a gradual startup in the spring. Today, the site processes several hundred thousand e-commerce orders annually, with peaks of more than 3,000 orders per day.
The project also greatly expanded the local team: the number of employees at the site more than doubled, from about 20 to 50 employees, to support the growth of this e-commerce activity.
The real engine behind this success is our people. A completely new project team, composed of French logistics experts from Staci and e-commerce specialists from Active Ants, had to quickly align different working methods, with no common history. The collaboration arose naturally, supported by a shared conviction: act together as one group, in the service of customer orientation and operational excellence.
« This project demonstrates our ability to quickly implement a high-performance automated e-commerce model by combining Active Ants» fulfillment expertise with Staci's omnichannel logistics flexibility. Moreover, it reflects what Paxon stands for: complementary strengths brought together under one name to provide customers with an integrated, flexible and scalable logistics solution that supports their operations."
- Rainer Kiefer, CEO 3PL Europe & Staci Americas
« We already supported JDE Peet's in several European markets. This new office in France allows us to further develop that collaboration in a strategic market, with a solution adapted to the requirements of e-commerce and the local supply chain. »
- Jean-François Pagnoux, CEO Staci France
Active Ants and Staci will soon be joined by Radial and Base Logistics under the Paxon brand within Bnode, to further strengthen their international logistics offerings.
