VIL Back to Business in conjunction with the AI launch: believing in innovation and technology

About 20 technology partners are demonstrating live how artificial intelligence can make logistics processes smarter, more efficient, and faster. The launch took place on September 9 during the ‘VIL Back to Business’ event at LogiVille.

AI is rapidly making the transition from experimental technology to concrete applications in the workplace. The technology is also playing an increasingly important role in logistics operations. Not only are existing systems becoming smarter, but processes are also increasingly being analyzed, optimized, and adjusted automatically.

This fall, 19 technology partners showcasing AI innovations will be at LogiVille, VIL’s demonstration center. They will demonstrate concrete, market-ready applications that companies can use to organize their operational processes more efficiently.

The official kickoff took place during the VIL Back to Business On September 9. Guest speaker Philippe Muyters, N-VA caucus chair in the Flemish Parliament and former Flemish Minister of Labor, Economy, Innovation, and Sports, discussed the flagship cluster policy and the importance of innovation in greater depth.

“In 2016, VIL still had to demonstrate why Flanders needed a logistics cluster. Today, VIL is a valued partner in our innovation landscape. The question now is: what impact is this collaboration having? The next task is clear: to further shorten the path from a good idea to the workplace, including for SMEs and startups. Because our logistical edge also depends on how quickly ideas become reality. VIL’s plan to create a hub for startups by 2027 fits perfectly into this,”, said Muyters.

19 AI Partners, Practical Applications

AI will cause certain tasks—and possibly certain jobs—to disappear, but at the same time it creates new opportunities. Startups, in particular, are capitalizing on these market opportunities and are demonstrating at LogiVille how AI can be translated into concrete applications and innovative solutions.

“Sixth Generation belongs in LogiVille: we use AI strategically where it enhances your organization’s day-to-day operations,” says  Alexander Van Ravestyn, co-founder of the startup Sixth Generation.
