AI agents convert asset data into faster, concrete actions
Sensolus introduced Sensolus AI to the general public at the IoT Tech Expo in Amsterdam. The solution helps companies detect what is happening to their assets more quickly and take action sooner when equipment is idle, goes missing, or is damaged. Sensolus AI converts asset data from Sensolus trackers into insights and recommendations, so teams spend less time tracking down problems and can make better use of their assets. To do this, customers can use Sensolus agents or make their asset data available in their own AI platform using the Sensolus MCP Connector.
Companies that manage large numbers of assets, such as containers, tools, or transport boxes, lose time and money when they don’t know where their equipment is or how it’s being used. Assets sometimes remain unused for long periods, get damaged during transport, or end up where they don’t belong. Employees often have to track down these issues themselves in reports or Excel files.
“Your assets in the field are completely invisible to AI,”, tells Johan Criel, CTO and co-founder of Sensolus. “You can solve this by installing smart hardware on your assets, so that your AI can be fed with tracking data from the field—such as the location history of your returnable packaging pool, the time your assets spend at your customers” sites, or the rotation cycles of your trailers. Sensolus AI makes the most of that data. We validate and enrich that data through our hardware, firmware, and cloud platform. This gives AI visibility into assets that would otherwise remain out of sight, allowing it to identify anomalies and make actionable recommendations. As a result, employees spend less time on manual searches, can deploy assets more efficiently, and have more time for tasks that require their expertise.”
Sensolus AI works in two ways. First, customers can choose from several Sensolus AI agents, each of which is designed for a specific task or process. For example, field agents analyze the scanning setup, monitor battery status, suggest configuration changes, and carefully plan replacements. Operation agents, on the other hand, identify when and where goods are being mishandled, determine who is responsible, pinpoint bottlenecks in the distribution network, and help optimize the fleet.
An example of an operation agent is the Handling Detective. When goods arrive damaged after being transported by train, the agent analyzes the shock measurements recorded by the trackers during the journey. He determines where and when there were an unusually high number of shocks. In this way, Sensolus AI helps pinpoint where the damage likely occurred and which carrier is likely responsible. The agent can then prepare a task or email for that carrier. Agents never take action without the user’s approval. Customer data is not used to train AI models.
On the other hand, customers can use the Sensolus MCP Connector to make their asset-tracking data available in the AI platform they use, such as ChatGPT, Copilot, Mistral, or Claude. Employees can ask their company’s AI tool questions about their assets and trackers. The AI assistant can also combine the Sensolus data with information from other connected systems, such as an ERP or CRM platform. For example, a question about containers that have been idle for weeks can be supplemented with open orders from the ERP system.
Sensolus sets itself apart by managing the entire workflow in-house: from trackers and firmware to data processing, the platform, and now the AI layer as well. This enables Sensolus to guarantee both the quality of the data and the performance of the AI applications. “Our expertise lies in asset tracking and making the physical world visible. We want to leverage the capabilities of AI where they help advance our solution and our customers. To do that, it all starts with reliable data. AI can only deliver value if it knows what’s happening with the assets in the field,” says Kristoff Van Rattinghe, CEO and co-founder of Sensolus.

Thanks to Sensolus AI, customers can now submit their questions and analyses to an agent on their own, and receive reports or dashboards even faster. As a result, Sensolus experts also have more time for personalized guidance and more complex issues. They help customers choose the right agent, determine whether customization is needed, and demonstrate how the agent fits into daily operations.
Sensolus is bringing the launch of Sensolus AI to life. Tracky, the new digital and physical mascot, introduces customers and visitors to Sensolus AI in an accessible way. At the IoT Tech Expo in Amsterdam, Tracky welcomes visitors while experts provide them with all the necessary information. On the Sensolus website, the mascot uses concrete use cases to demonstrate how Sensolus AI works and how it can take their asset management to new heights.
