MDO Group offers a comprehensive package for warehouse safety, ranging from safety inspections to office cubicles

When you walk around your warehouse, you see people and machines moving back and forth in a controlled manner. Drivers are unloading and loading goods, routing paths are being adjusted, and logistics processes are being digitized as much as possible. However, a warehouse designed for safety can become less efficient or less safe over time. That’s why a safe work environment doesn’t start with collision protection, fall protection, or signage, but with a much more important question: what do you want to protect?

In every warehouse, there are four critical elements that need protection: people, machinery, buildings, and racking. If any of these components is damaged, it often has consequences for safety, operational continuity, and productivity. Yet it still happens far too often that the same damage recurs without a company addressing the underlying cause.

Safety starts with understanding

The saying ‘prevention is better than cure’ also applies to warehousing. Many organizations only invest in security after damage has been identified. In practice, recurring collisions, damaged racks, or hazardous situations often result from changes in driving routes, an increasing number of forklift movements, a modified warehouse layout, or a capacity that no longer matches the flow of goods.

The Zottegem-based MDO Group—which also has a branch in Breda—looks beyond simply supplying products. “Through warehouse inspections and assessments, we identify risks and investigate the causes of damage,” says co-manager Ewout Speecke. “Based on this screening, we provide each customer with tailored advice, ranging from redesign and optimization to additional safety measures.”

From inspection to a comprehensive safety solution

The solutions offered by MDO are always tailored to the customer’s specific situation. “This can range from inspecting all storage systems and conducting general safety analyses to installing collision protection and fall protection—such as safety nets, mesh walls, and grates—as well as labeling and signage,” says Speecke.

“One of our major strengths is that we are the exclusive distributor of Raysan, a leading brand in plastic collision protection. These solutions absorb impact energy, minimizing damage to your racking, machinery, and buildings. Thanks to their modular design and durable materials, they are particularly well-suited for modern logistics environments.”

A warehouse that grows with your organization

In addition to safety, Speecke also likes to highlight MDO Group’s warehouse reorganizations, custom-built structures, and industrial relocation projects.

“We assist our customers with the design, reorganization, or relocation of their warehouses, including new and used warehouse racking, mezzanine floors, office furnishings, and custom structures. Our team guides you through the entire process—from consultation and planning to completion.”

Ewout and his colleagues are also seeing an increase in demand for additional office, meeting, or workspace within existing warehouses. “We’re very proud of our range of custom office cubicles. We tailor each cubicle entirely to the available space and the customer’s needs, from offices and meeting rooms to quality control stations and team areas. You don’t have to undertake major renovations within your facility, while at the same time avoiding prolonged disruptions to your logistics workflows.”

Family-owned business with over 20 years of expertise

Behind MDO Group’s offerings and service lies a strong family story. The company was founded more than twenty years ago by Peter Speecke and is now led by his sons, Ewout Speecke and Sander Speecke. Their brother, Robrecht Speecke, is also now part of the team.

“Over the past two decades, we have become a trusted partner for numerous companies in logistics, manufacturing, retail, and distribution,” says Ewout Speecke. “Our in-house team of fifty experienced technicians and at least as many regular subcontractors supports customers from inspection and consultation through delivery, installation, testing, and maintenance.”.

”The combination of family-owned commitment and a strong operational organization makes MDO Group a one-stop shop for warehouse safety, warehouse layout, and logistics relocation projects. Our customers greatly appreciate this approach."
