Jungheinrich has signed an agreement with BMWT-Train, thereby continuing its long-standing partnership as part of the revamped BMWT-Train approach. As a training provider, Jungheinrich has made a conscious decision to continue offering BMWT-Train operator training courses under the new quality system.
The partnership was formalized during an official signing ceremony by Jan Langerak, Managing Director of Jungheinrich; Jan Hommes, Director of BMWT; and Peter van Egmond, Director of Customer Service at Jungheinrich.
BMWT-Train is the quality certification mark for operator training programs for construction equipment and focuses on improving safety and professional competence in the sector. The initiative aims to contribute to reducing accidents through high-quality training, objective testing, and certification, with the ultimate goal of zero fatal accidents.
A key feature of the updated BMWT-Train approach is the clearer separation between training, testing, and quality assurance. BMWT-Train sets requirements for what a trainee must know and be able to do, and monitors quality through audits, spot checks, and data analysis. Affiliated training providers deliver the training courses and have the freedom to design their training programs within these guidelines. Certification is granted based on a theory exam and a practical assessment and is registered centrally.
The revamped BMWT-Train program will be implemented in phases. In the first phase, the focus will be on forklift operator training; other operator training courses will follow at a later stage.
Jungheinrich has been providing operator training through BMWT-Train for operators of industrial trucks for many years. The training offerings include courses for forklifts, reach trucks, EPTs, stackers, and aerial work platforms. The training sessions are held at Jungheinrich’s own training center in Alphen aan den Rijn or on-site at customers’ locations, with the content tailored to the work environment, the equipment used, and the specific safety risks. This enables participants to learn how to work safely and responsibly in their own practical work environment.
