Add Silence: online booking of whisper-quiet electric Volvo CE machines now possible

Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) is launching the Volvo Group's first e-commerce platform for the end-user market. Through the online portal, customers are now able to sign up to reserve one of Volvo's new compact electric machines.

The new ECR25 Electric, a compact electric excavator, and the L25 Electric, a compact electric wheel loader fit seamlessly into the future of construction equipment. The emissions are zero, they are whisper quiet and low-vibration. This makes them ideal for work in a city center, and in fact in any other sensitive work environment. Other advantages are that the machine requires less maintenance, operates more quietly and is prepared for increasingly stringent environmental regulations. The electric machines were presented last year and can now be reserved for the first time on Volvo CE's online platform.

Melker Jernberg, Volvo CE President said, "We are always looking for ways to improve the customer experience, streamline our processes and take advantage of new technologies. We couldn't think of a better time to announce our new online platform than the launch of these electric machines. We look forward to hearing from our customers."

New markets

The e-commerce platform goes live today in the main markets, i.e. in the Netherlands, France, Germany, Great Britain and Norway. Through registration on the online reservation platform, the customer places himself on the production list for the electric machine. At a later time, each eligible customer will receive notification that he can actually order the machines. They will arrive on the market this summer.

The online portal was set up to address new markets and applications for these electric machines. The online booking platform was set up in consultation with local dealer SMT. Volvo Financial Services, global financial services provider of the Volvo Group, supports the purchase of these machines through a flexible package of financial solutions.

Campaign around electromobility

Volvo CE is launching its first electric machines with an electromobility campaign starting this week that highlights the technology's many social benefits. The "Add Silence" campaign focuses on an underexposed but very important benefit of electric construction equipment, namely the reduction of harmful noise.

Melker Jernberg: "When we talk about harmful emissions, one quickly thinks only of CO2. But research has shown that noise is just as harmful. If we want to build a sustainable future together, we must make a common effort and address both problems."
