Linde Material Handling has won awards in the annual readers' poll of the German trade magazine materialfluss. The readers' choice in the "Software and Sensor Technology" category fell on the Linde Reverse Assist Radar, which uses sensors to increase safety on the shop floor.
Once again this year, companies were able to have their latest innovations judged by the readers of materialfluss, a German trade magazine specializing in the world of intralogistics. Entries were spread across five categories, with the Linde Reverse Assist Radar garnering the most votes in the "Software and Sensor Technology" category.
This safety option uses sensors to prevent accidents. It achieves this by recognizing moving and static objects behind the forklift in the travel path. When the truck approaches this obstacle, the driver is warned acoustically and visually in several stages. If an obstacle suddenly appears and there is a risk of collision, the Linde Reverse Assist Radar automatically intervenes and brakes the truck at a speed of up to 3 m/s². This takes into account the lift height, travel speed, steering angle and distance to the obstacle. If the driver wants to depart from standstill and the system detects persons and/or objects behind the truck, it prevents it from moving.
'The offline and online readers of materialfluss have once again confirmed that Linde MH is one of the technological leaders in the industry. We would like to thank all participants for their votes. This is a great recognition and encourages us to continue along the same path', said Tobias Klein, Senior Strategy and Portfolio Manager Safety & Digital Solutions at Linde MH, who received the award from laudator Marvin Meyke, editor-in-chief of materialfluss.
