A stable pallet forms the foundation for safe, efficient, and sustainable logistics. Less damage, less waste, and smarter use of materials contribute to a future-proof supply chain. Based on this conviction, Contimeta has invested in a new Test & Innovation Center, where organizations can have their packaging processes tested and improved under realistic transport conditions. With advanced measuring equipment, data-driven analyses, and specialized knowledge, Contimeta helps companies find the optimal balance between stability, safety, and sustainable use of materials.
During transport, a pallet is subjected to significant forces caused by braking, acceleration, and turns. An unstable load increases the risk of product damage, delays, and additional costs in the logistics chain. In the Pallet and Test Center At Contimeta, these conditions are simulated to provide insight into a pallet's actual performance.
During the tests, loads are subjected to forces of up to 0.8G, in accordance with the EUMOS 40509 guideline for pallet stability. A high-quality Basler camera and specialized analysis software are used to accurately record and evaluate movements. The results are compiled into a comprehensive analysis report with specific recommendations for further optimizing packaging processes.
These insights are becoming increasingly relevant. European regulations, including the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR), imposes stricter requirements on packaging use and waste reduction. In addition, demonstrating that transport packaging is safe and stable throughout the logistics chain is becoming increasingly important.

Properly optimized pallet stability not only ensures safer transport, but also helps reduce damage, minimize returns, and improve material efficiency. By optimizing packaging, companies can often save on materials without compromising stability.
Within the Test & Innovation Center Contimeta is constantly developing new solutions for sustainable packaging. With the WrapCycle Assessment The entire pallet wrapping process is analyzed to improve film usage and efficiency. In addition, Contimeta works with the PaperWrapper innovative applications that use paper as a circular alternative to traditional wrapping film. This combination of research, technology, and specialized knowledge helps customers create future-proof packaging solutions.

The Test & Innovation Center supports a wide range of organizations, from logistics service providers and manufacturing companies to retailers, wholesalers, and e-commerce companies. By combining testing, analysis, and consulting, the center helps companies identify opportunities for improvement within their packaging processes and supply chains.
In addition to technological development, Contimeta focuses on knowledge sharing and collaboration. In this way, the company helps organizations not only to be prepared for new regulations, but also to operate more efficiently and sustainably.
According to CEO Pieter Groeneveld, the innovation center aligns seamlessly with the company’s strategic direction: “We are and will remain a full-service provider of machinery, materials, and maintenance. In addition, we aim to be the leading expert and champion in the field of pallet stability and more sustainable packaging solutions.”
