Renault Trucks announces the opening of pre-orders for the Renault Trucks E-Tech T and C, intended for regional transport and construction respectively. These new 100% 44-ton electric trucks will be produced at the manufacturer's plant in Bourg-en-Bresse.
The Renault Trucks E-Tech T and C are now available for pre-order from Renault Trucks dealers in Europe. Transporters interested in purchasing a 100% electric truck from the heavy-duty range can reserve the first available production slots now. Production of the Renault Trucks E-Tech T and C will start in late 2023 at the Bourg-en-Bresse plant.
To meet the numerous requirements of regional transport and (urban) construction, Renault Trucks E-Tech T and C can be ordered with two or three electric motors with a combined output of up to 490 kW.
There is a wide choice of traction batteries: the Renault Trucks E-Tech T and C can be equipped with four to six lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of 390 to 540 kWh. The batteries can be fully charged via alternating current up to 43 kW or via direct current up to 250 kW. These trucks can travel up to 300 km on a single charge and up to 500 km with an intermediate one-hour recharging session (250 kW).
The battery cells and modules are supplied by Samsung SDI, and they are assembled in Ghent, Belgium, at a Volvo Group factory, which includes Renault Trucks.
To adapt easily to any type of bodywork and therefore to any type of deployment, Renault Trucks E-Tech T and C can be equipped with three types of Power Take-off (PTO): electric, electromechanical or on the gearbox.
The Renault Trucks E-Tech T and C, with a total permissible weight of 44 tons GWV, can be ordered as 4×2 and 6×2 tractors, with Sleeper Cab (long and tall cab) and a wheelbase of 3,900 mm. As a rigid truck version, they are available as 4×2, 6×2 and 8×4 tridem, with short or long cab and a choice of eleven wheelbases ranging from 3,900 to 6,700 mm.
For trouble-free operation and optimum performance, Renault Trucks E-Tech T and C models have a complete range of services. In particular, they can benefit from the Start & Drive Predict predictive maintenance contract, which monitors the condition of batteries and wear parts, prevents unexpected vehicle downtime and allows maintenance operations to be grouped and optimized. The Renault Trucks E-Tech T and C are equipped with Optifleet, a fleet management software package that allows drivers to plan their trips, assign tasks to drivers remotely, inform customers of the vehicle's location and monitor the battery charge level in real time to optimize energy consumption.
The Renault Trucks E-Tech T and C are an integral part of a complete decarbonization ecosystem offered by the manufacturer, consisting of tailored support for transport companies in their energy transition, from researching and analyzing their needs to monitoring implementation and operation. This analysis includes the Range Simulator tool, which allows Renault Trucks' experts to analyze the vehicle's consumption in the best possible way, taking into account the GPS route, weather conditions, payload and the use of tools.
