Last year we again completed beautiful projects in downtown Leiden. In total, we sustainably restored 22 wooden structures, including bridges, fenders and jetties.
For example, with the municipality of Leiden, we saved 5,500 kg of CO2 saved.
By carefully restoring rather than replacing the artworks, the historic wooden artworks in downtown will be preserved.
Save together with our commissioners in 2019. That is equivalent to 671 car trips to Paris or the weekly emissions of 152 Dutch households. We are enormously proud of this!
For the municipality of Noordoostpolder, we were able to make a start at the bicycle bridge the Overstap in Emmeloord. Here we have repaired a fender and a number of mooring posts on the air water line so that they are like new again.
After repairing the lock gates in Kruisland for Waterschap Brabantse Delta a few years ago, this year we were commissioned to repair the four dolphins near the lock gates. Together with Waterschap Brabants Delta, we aim to repair as much wood as possible instead of replacing it in order to minimize the impact on the environment.
