New KLIC milestone for BlindGuide

New KLIC milestone for BlindGuide

The Corona outbreak affects us all and demands our flexibility and creativity. Today, in this digital age, we reach another important milestone in BlindGuide's "start-up" existence. And what a milestone, because from today BlindGuide also allows you to easily and quickly file a KLIC report on your laptop, smartphone and tablet.

Right from the beginning when we did our first publication of the BlindGuide KLIC app in March 2018, our philosophy was: KLIC notification easy and approachable to view at the construction site.

KLIC notification

In the past years since then, we still regularly experienced that not everyone has such easy access to doing a KLIC report. For that reason and to stay close to our philosophy, we have recently worked hard to add this functionality to the BlindGuide ETL Portal.

On March 17, we were finally able to celebrate the happy event. From that day on, our customers can easily make a KLIC report via tablet, smartphone or laptop. During this ordering process you can also easily add your own data so that the ladies and gentlemen outside have all the data available to prevent excavation damage.

Vector data

Based on the WIBON and the European directive INSPIRE, Kadaster, together with the excavation sector, has started the KLIC-WIN program. This updated vector data should ensure greater ease of use for excavators. Concretely, this means that the "old" png images in the KLIC notification have been replaced for vector data. On January 1, 2019, this was started by Kadaster and the Network Operators. During the weekend of March 1 last, together with some service providers and Kadaster, we conducted the final migration test. On Sunday morning, we could jointly conclude that the migration to version 2.2 (fully vector data) had been successful. This was not a major adjustment for BlindGuide because we had already been the first vector viewer on the market since November 1.

Why through BlindGuide?

Advantages of doing KLIC reporting through the BlindGuide portal are:

  • Simple user interface for PC and smartphone;
  • Easily add your own DWG or DXF drawing during the ordering process;
  • Easily add your own project planning or work instructions in PDF during the ordering process;
  • The ability to add ground radar data;
  • Pay as You Go;
  • View the final result directly in Augmented Reality in our app.

Timeline

Of course, between March 2018 and now, we have not been sitting still and have added lots of other fun and useful features to the BlindGuide KLIC app and ETL portal. In the video below, we've recapped the most important milestones for you.
