A resistant business floor for your premises

Of course, always consider the use

A company floor often has to endure a lot. That is why such a floor requires a thorough approach. With more than 40 years of experience, Kreeft Synthetic Flooring is an experienced partner that provides a company building with a good foundation. Director
Roelof Kreeft talks about the resistant floors the company installs.

According to Roelof, there are all kinds of reasons to install or repair a commercial floor. "An existing plastic floor can be worn out. You can see that, for example, because there are a lot of scratches on it or because you can see the subfloor. We recently replaced a floor completely after it was damaged by a fire. How long a floor lasts depends on its use. For example, if you keep a plastic floor well cleaned, it will benefit its lifespan. But in general, after 10 years is a good time to give the floor a refurbishment."

It's not always about repair, Roelof explains. "Another reason for a new floor is if the building gets a new function. Maybe you as a company have purchased a new building that does not yet have a plastic floor. Or you will have to deal with business activities or legislation that require a waterproof floor."

Good preparation

Roelof explains, "Before you install a floor, it is very important to properly assess the substrate. This is how you determine which system fits best. After all, without the right pretreatment, a floor can come loose."

"In addition, you have to consider the use of the floor. Think about the load it will face. Together with the customer, we look at what is needed and factor in expectations. Based on that, we choose a system that fits well and fits the budget."

The best solution

According to Roelof, each project has its own requirements. "Which floor we choose depends on what the customer is looking for. Generally, we install thick cast floors. These provide a flat surface that can withstand wear and tear. The customer's aesthetic considerations also play a role. For example, he can choose what gloss level the floor should have. When it comes to commercial flooring, our customers usually come from industry. That means we generally do large areas."

Yet a big project doesn't always have to take a long time. "New developments in cast flooring systems allow us to work faster and faster. There are many options these days for fast-curing flooring systems. It sometimes happens that we pour a floor over the weekend that can be put into use as early as Monday. We go for a phasing that ensures that the customer can do their work with as little inconvenience as possible and minimally miss their floor."
