Engcon offers automatic quick coupler for excavators up to 40 tons

For automatic connection of large hydraulic attachments with high flow rates

Engcon, world market leader in rotary tilt attachments, will start production in 2019 of EC-Oil 80, an automatic hydraulic coupler that fits on the Q-Safe 80 quick coupler for excavators up to 40 tons and for large attachments with higher flow rates.

In 2018, engcon began prototyping tests of EC-Oil 80, engcon's largest model of automatic hydraulic couplers. This allows the operator to remain seated in the excavator when he or she needs to connect or disconnect the rotary attachment and other hydraulic attachments. This makes climbing in and out of the cab to connect and manual work with pressurized, dirty hydraulic hoses a thing of the past.

Full production of EC-Oil 80 will begin in spring 2019. The automatic hydraulic coupling on quick couplers and rotary tilts will then be available as standard free of charge in sizes QS45-QS80 with the purchase of the combination quick coupler, rotary tilter and control system DC2.

"There is great demand for an automatic quick coupler for the larger excavators, because the larger manual hydraulic couplers from the ¾ size up are heavy and difficult to handle," says Fredrik Jonsson, head of development at Engcon Group.

Q-Safe 80 is engcons strongest automatic quick coupler. It comes standard with an EC-Oil 70 block with two ¾-inch couplings, an electrical connection and a coupling for central lubrication. This covers a wide range of needs and can then automatically couple Engcon's swivel tilters with the corresponding EC-Oil coupling.

In addition to the standard configuration, Q-Safe 80 can also be equipped with an EC-Oil 80 block, with two 1-inch hydraulic couplings, one ½-inch hydraulic coupling and two electrical connections. With that configuration, it becomes possible to achieve a flow of up to 250 liters through quick coupling Q-Safe 80.

"In addition, should additional flow be required, the EC-Oil 70 block can be replaced with another EC-Oil 80. Then we achieve a flow of up to 300 liters, and this allows large and hydraulic attachments with high flow requirements to be connected," says Fredrik Jonsson.

Engcon announces that its own hydraulic attachments, vibratory plates, sorting grapples, wood grapples, sweeper rollers and fork holders can be completely equipped with EC-Oil automatic hydraulic couplers. Engcon also provides ready-to-use tops/adapters that can be welded or bolted onto customers' existing hydraulic attachments.
