New commercial director Volvo Trucks Netherlands

Jan Schouten has been appointed Director of Volvo Trucks Vehicle Sales at Volvo Trucks Netherlands as of January 1, 2022. He takes over the role of Roeland Ruygt who has been appointed General Director at Volvo Group Truck Center.   

Since 2002, Jan Schouten has held various positions within Volvo Trucks Netherlands in the field of dealer sales management and fleet sales. The last four years, as Manager Product, he was responsible for product policy and technical support to the internal organization and the dealer network with an important focus on the transition from diesel trucks to CO₂-neutral vehicles including (bio-)LNG and electric trucks.

With diesel trucks becoming ever more fuel efficient and cleaner, numerous alternative fuels and powertrains such as electric and soon hydrogen, the choices transport companies have to make are becoming more and more complicated. It is a challenge now, as commercial director, to be able to further expand this leading position and help transport companies in their choices towards a sustainable future," explains Jan Schouten. 

Jan Schouten succeeds Roeland Ruygt, who has been appointed General Manager at Volvo Group Truck Center as of Jan. 1, 2022. 

The position of Manager Product at Volvo Trucks Netherlands will be filled by Erik-Jan Slijkhuis as of January 1, 2022. For the past three years he has been working as Sales Engineer in the Product Department within Volvo Trucks Nederland. Before that, Erik-Jan Slijkhuis gained broad experience within the transport industry at both manufacturers and transport companies.
