The Volvo FMX 460 10×4 TAG-XL concrete mixer was delivered by the Zwolle branch of Volvo Trucks dealer Nijwa Group.
MixTrans specializes in delivering concrete mortar to individuals and businesses. "We mainly deliver to construction companies," says Linda Loosman, who owns the company with her husband Gilles. "We also do a lot of transport on behalf of concrete plants."
Due to growth in operations, MixTrans is expanding its fleet of concrete mixers. "We were mainly looking for a compact truck with a fixed concrete mixer body," says Loosman. "In fact, we have a number of tractor-trailer combinations with which we deliver concrete mortar, but with these it is sometimes difficult to turn in at tight locations. We regularly have to deliver in places where space is limited, such as in cities and near shopping malls."
In the search for a suitable truck, the new Volvo FMX in the picture. "We saw a demo model and we were immediately excited about it," says Loosman. "It's a compact truck, ideal for the work we do with it. Moreover, the Volvo FMX looks nice and the truck has a robust appearance, something I also look for. It really is a calling card that we can arrive at our clients with."
In the new Volvo FMX, numerous novelties contribute to a pleasant working environment for the driver. The cabin with upright A-pillars offers the driver up to a cubic meter of extra space, and the generous windows and lowered window line in the doors contribute to an excellent field of vision. Loosman: "The spacious cab offers plenty of storage options and on the digital dashboard the driver can choose what information he wants to see. In addition the extensive security options on. The blind spot camera ensures maximum visibility, and the truck also has a rearview camera, whose images the driver sees on a secondary display. This comes in extremely handy in tight locations and on construction sites."
