Tjaden Adviesbureau voor Grondmechanica has been active as a consultant in the field of geotechnical engineering and geohydrology for over fifty years. Tjaden is originally a family business dating back to 1895(!) and has been part of Theo van Velzen Holding since 2011.
"We are still building on the roots of the family business," says business manager Arjen Verhoeven. "That means we are very flexible towards our customers and preferably deal with requests on the same day. On the other hand, we also invest heavily in machinery, equipment, knowledge and expertise."
Clients turn to Tjaden for advice on foundation engineering, soil retaining walls (such as sheet piling) and drainage. "We also carry out the necessary geotechnical soil investigations. Think of soundings, soil borings, monitoring wells, laboratory research, and so on. Whether projects are large- or small-scale, every job is carried out with enthusiasm, as befits an old family business. From the construction of a basement and a 2-layer parking garage to research in various soccer stadiums in the Netherlands and even on the Polderbaan at Schiphol Airport. We use the most modern equipment and our crawler-mounted CPT truck allows us to work in the field as well. We convert all the data generated (in the field) into adequate advice."
