Aqua Nederland Vakbeurs and RioleringsVakdagen will not take place in 2020 due to coronavirus

Easyfairs, organizer of Aqua Nederland Vakbeurs and RioleringsVakdagen, announces that both events will not take place in 2020. The fairs had previously been moved from their original dates in March due to the corona virus to June 16, 17 and 18. Due to the ban on meetings until June 1, current developments and uncertainty about measures after June 1, mid-June will not be a reliable time for a trade show. After extensive consultation with the community, it was decided that moving to the fall of 2020 is also not an option due to the saturated (trade show) schedule. The next edition of Aqua Nederland Vakbeurs and RioleringsVakdagen will therefore take place on March 23, 24 and 25, 2021. 

Esther Rodenburg, event manager, explains on behalf of Easyfairs: "Meanwhile, the Netherlands is entering its fourth week of corona restrictions. The halls are quiet and deserted. Very surreal so in the middle of the high trade show season. We look forward to the time when we can meet again and give substance to these fantastic events together with the market. But this crisis is exceptional and that moment is hard to predict. What is clear is that June comes too soon for any major event. We see it as our responsibility to bring the Dutch water sector together in the best possible way during their annual networking moment. Since the last premier update, we as a team have spent a lot of time considering what the best solution is, not only for Aqua Nederland Vakbeurs and RioleringsVakdagen, but for the industry as a whole. In these challenging times, water professionals must be given the space to work on vital water infrastructure. That is where the focus of the water market lies and we want to give that space."

Rodenburg: "Moving to the fall was also unfortunately not an option. We regret this, because we think it is important for the market to show resilience and recover as quickly as possible. A trade show is then an ideal time to make the connections and face the challenges. Many exhibitors and partners indicated that their schedules simply did not allow for it. Many events were already scheduled and many have been moved to the latter part of 2020. We make this decision with pain in our hearts and hope for understanding from all involved, but we want to ensure that our visitors, exhibitors, partners and speakers attend an event that will be at its best. Of course, we ourselves also want to organize only top-notch events for this community. Therefore the promise to make it the best edition yet together in 2021."
