Formwork and scaffolding: best of both worlds

PERI - Expanding business through broader base

PERI is a resounding name in the world of formwork. The newly launched strategy focuses on broadening the range. Large and small projects alternate and the range is being fundamentally broadened: in addition to formwork, PERI is increasingly acting as a scaffolding partner for industry, construction and other sectors (such as painters, etc.). René Otjens, Country Manager Netherlands, explains the developments.

Best of both worlds

"With the expansion of our program, we offer 'the best of both worlds,'" he explains. "The current sales team is being trained in the updated product portfolio while a good number of vacancies are open. For example, in addition to sales and sales-support engineers, we are also looking for design engineers and supervisors." With the team, PERI aims to provide maximum support to Europe's largest industrial growth region. "The Botlek, Antwerp, Eemshaven - these are growth areas where our combination of formwork and scaffolding comes into its own," said René Otjens. "For engineering, we can fall back on our own engineering team. And should additional capacity be required, we effortlessly switch to the international PERI network. For the specialist cream of the crop, we can also use the European Competence Center."

International network

It is precisely from this international network that PERI wants customers to benefit in the best possible way. Plans are introduced and coordinated centrally. "By learning from each other, 'best practices' can easily be translated to other countries. In addition, this allows the benefits that 3D and BIM (Building Information Modeling) offer in the engineering of scaffolding, and support structures to be taken advantage of. The nhow Amsterdam RAI Hotel, which is characterized by large cantilevers, is a good example of this."

Strength of the combination

Meanwhile, the new scaffolding team is beginning to take shape. René Otjens: "It is running well and we notice that customers appreciate the 'power of the combination'. In addition, with PERI UP we have a scaffolding system that can be easily adapted to the structural and geometric conditions and with which safety at the workplace is a matter of course. Thanks to its lightweight design and quick assembly, the system, which is available in two versions, is also excellent to work with. We are now committed to expanding the partner network and I am confident that we will succeed in this as well so that customers can be served even more completely."
