The earthmoving equipment market is still a fairly traditional market. Companies have traditionally placed a high value on owning machines, but this does not always make them flexible. Hitachi Premium Rental offers the benefits of a young and diverse fleet of machines to tackle any project quickly and flexibly with costs known in advance. All without risk!

A certain degree of flexibility in the machinery fleet is becoming increasingly important, according to Gijs van Heertum of Hitachi Premium Rental. "Every (infra) project is unique and that often requires a great diversity of machines. Other sectors and industries have long been accustomed to renting or leasing equipment, and the world of earthmoving is gradually becoming familiar with alternatives to the traditional purchase of equipment. It makes sense too, because renting offers many advantages."

Short and long-term rentals

Hitachi Premium Rental is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi Construction Machinery and has access to a fleet of more than one hundred machines. "The fleet consists of wheel loaders, crawler and tire excavators, all in the over 13-ton category," said Van Heertum. "The machines are available both for a short period of a few days and for a long rental period of up to five years. So depending on the project, the infrastructure contractor chooses the contract that best suits the job. For the longer term, it is even possible to equip the machines customer-specifically and in the company colors. Because we are a wholly owned subsidiary of the manufacturer, we have nothing to do with external parties for financing, for example. We enter into the contracts with our customers ourselves and can therefore apply maximum flexibility if required."

Rich equipment

The rental fleet all consists of young and richly equipped machines. According to Van Heertum, the latter is a deliberate choice in order to serve customers optimally. "For example, a large proportion of our tracked excavators are equipped with GPS, the tire excavators are fitted with a swivel/tilt and a number of wheel loaders contain a weighing system. All machines 'hang' a fixed rate depending on the rental period. The rental price is all-inclusive, including service, repair and maintenance. This makes it easy to approach a project without risk. We can also take care of transport. Currently, our rental fleet consists of approximately one hundred machines. Incidentally, we are constantly expanding our fleet. By the end of the year we expect to have 120 machines in the rental fleet."
