Founding the Future: developing sustainable foundation machines. Innovation is paramount within Dieseko Group

Innovation is paramount within Dieseko Group

Dieseko wants to contribute substantially to emission-free construction in 2030. The vision 'Founding the Future' is therefore entirely focused on developing sustainable foundation machines. This makes Dieseko an innovator in a market where many developments lie ahead.

To achieve sustainable development, Dieseko has entered into collaborations with specialist partners in, for example, electrification and battery technology. Specifically, Founding the Future focuses on zero emissions (electrically powered power packs and vibratory blocks), reducing noise and harmful vibrations, remote services and providing insight into the benefits of this technology and its application in new markets. A good example is the offshore installation of huge monopiles for wind turbines, with benefits such as time savings and much less disruption to the marine biotope.

Electric Woltman

Dieseko subsidiary Woltman goes electric! Battery technology has now reached the point where Woltman's mighty machines can also be driven electrically. BAM Infra has the scoop and signed for the delivery of a 90DR-e drilling crane. It is currently being built at the factory in Giessenburg and will be delivered at the end of 2022. With any luck, we can already see it at Bauma in Munich this October.

The electric, 105-ton 90DR-e offers the same functionalities as BAM Infra's original 90DR drilling crane. That makes it universally deployable and soon it will be possible to hang and drive a pile-driving hammer or vibratory hammer in the mast in addition to a drilling cabinet. The machine can then drill piles, install pipes and drive in sheet piling.

"The big challenge in our market is the tremendously large power that must be available during a working day. The battery capacity required is comparable to that of about twenty Tesla's. For charging, in the near future the power supply on the construction site will be crucial for these kinds of large machines," said the outlook of Ronald IJntema, CCO of Dieseko Group.

Working more efficiently

Recently, Dieseko Group developed an innovatively constructed vibratory block with a linear moving side clamp: the Sidegripper. The linear moving side clamp has fewer moving parts and a better transfer of clamping load (cylinder force = clamping force). With the Sidegripper mounted on an excavator, the operator can pick up a horizontal profile without leaving the cabin or calling in an extra colleague. Sheet piles and pipes can be clamped and vibrated sideways. This makes the Sidegripper the solution for working in conditions where height is limited, such as under a viaduct. With the Sidegripper, even the longest profiles can be installed without a telescopic broker.

Woltman 1000PDS

Those looking for a foundation machine for heavy-duty piling work with long pile lengths and large diameters quickly come to Woltman's PDS series. The 1000PDS in particular is popular for nearshore piling, for example from a pontoon, where it can be used with or without a guide. Also of interest is the possibility of shoring, or inserting long piles at an angle. The 1000PDS is both crane and piling rig and also has other clever installation methods, such as the combination of a vibrating block followed by piling with a falling block. The 1000PDS is over 20 meters long and weighs about 80 tons.
