Compact storage: save time and money

Are metal sheets, tubes and profiles scattered in different stacks around the warehouse? Then you are guaranteed to lose a lot of time searching for the required workpiece. Money is also regularly spent unnecessarily on the purchase of new raw materials, when in fact they are still available. “People still pay too little attention today to an appropriate storage system for profiles, pipes and sheets. In many cases we are only contacted after a work accident. Storing profiles and tubes

The choice depends mainly on the length and at the same time the weight of the elements. A swivel arm rack, where drawers are pulled out manually, is ideal for profiles from 3 to 6 m, while heavier and longer components - up to 20 m - are stored in a long goods roll-out rack. Loading out here is done with a rotary handle. “In storage systems with 100 % extendable drawers, one can load entire bundles of profiles and other heavy and/or long pieces in one movement as well as easily take them out,” Moreels continues. “Moreover, they also score in terms of ergonomics, because the warehouse worker has to pull and drag much less, sparing back and other limbs.”

Storing plates

Eurostorage is also the right place to store metal sheets. The plate rack horizontal is equipped with drawers that can extend 100 % outside the rack, allowing plates to be removed by just one person using suction cups, a loading crane, a loading bridge or a slewing column. If the workpieces must be transported a little further, it is better to opt for a plate rack forklift. The cassettes have fork openings, allowing them to be extracted and transported with a forklift truck. The plate warehouse combines the best of both worlds - a plate rack horizontal and a plate rack forklift, creating a compact tower with 25 storage spaces.

“One can also store plates vertically, for example in the plate rack vertical, available in a light and heavy model. The drawers are 100 % extendable, making the plates immediately available and allowing one to work quickly and safely,” the business manager continues. “For storage areas with limited available depth, we propose mobile drawer frames. In turn, our plate rack U-Box, an automated plate rack with electrically sliding drawers, is ideal for heavy metal plates up to 20 tons. In both solutions, the drawers are mounted on rails. This allows them to be moved easily, creating an aisle.”

Long-term investment

Over the years, Eurostorage's range has only expanded, most recently with a drawer rack for storing profiles up to 6 m. “Our storage systems are a one-time investment, increasing efficiency and productivity.
