Robots, AGV's en geautomatiseerde sorteersystemen veranderen warehouses in hoog tempo. Toch blijft aan de randen van het proces veel mensenwerk bestaan. Afwijkende pakketten, wisselende series, volle trailers en beperkte werkruimtes passen niet altijd binnen één geautomatiseerde lijn. Volgens Christian de Kleuver, vestigingsmanager bij Erkon Tilhulpmiddelen, ligt daar een belangrijke kans. "Waar mensenwerk nodig blijft, kunnen ergonomische tilhulpmiddelen de fysieke belasting wegnemen en medewerkers ondersteunen om veilig, efficiënt en duurzaam te werken. Lage rugpijn kost in Nederland immers 4,4 miljard euro per jaar. Werkgever en werknemer zijn bovendien wettelijk verplicht om dat risico te beperken", stelt hij.
