Remitrans once again chooses Nebim and the Volvo FH Aero with the delivery of 5 new tractor-trailers

The Remitrans transportation company has taken delivery of five new Volvo FH13 Aero 4×2 tractor-trailers from Nebim Ninove. The vehicles will replace five existing Volvo trucks within the family-owned company’s bulk division. With this investment, Remitrans is once again opting for a combination of fuel efficiency, driver comfort, and operational reliability. The delivery is part of a long-standing partnership in which Nebim is responsible not only for the maintenance of all Volvo tractor-trailers but also for Remitrans’ entire trailer fleet.

Remitrans has three specialized divisions. The five new Volvo FH Aero trucks will be deployed within the bulk division, which specializes in the transport of solid bulk goods for industrial customers. The fleet consists of approximately 77 tractor units, 46 of which are Volvo tractor units. With these new Aero models, Remitrans is renewing part of its fleet.

The vehicles are equipped with a Globetrotter Aero cab, a 13-liter Turbo Compound engine producing 460 PK, a 12-speed I-Shift transmission, I-ParkCool parking cooling, and various driver-assistance and safety systems. The CMS mirror cameras with blind-spot monitoring and the aerodynamic design also contribute to efficient and safe operation.

Positive Experience with the Volvo FH Aero

The decision to choose the Volvo FH Aero is in line with the positive experiences Remitrans has had with Volvo trucks over the years.

“With the FH Aero, we’re opting for a new generation of Volvo trucks,” says Ronald Dedoncker, director and co-owner of Remitrans. “The excellent fuel economy was a key reason for us to choose these vehicles. For a fleet that operates both domestically and internationally, that efficiency is a major factor. Our drivers have also responded positively to the driving comfort and features of the new vehicles. The five tractors are equipped with a hydraulic system from HYSS, allowing them to be used to their full potential in combination with Remitrans’ specialized bulk semi-trailers.

A close partnership for more than 10 years

Remitrans and Nebim have been working together for many years. Since 2015, Nebim Ninove has been located on Remitrans’ premises. From that point on, the partnership was further expanded, and Nebim took over the complete maintenance of the Volvo tractors and the trailer fleet. Remitrans used to perform most of the maintenance in-house. The increasing technical complexity of vehicles and trailers, combined with the challenge of finding specialized technicians, led to the decision to outsource maintenance on a permanent basis.
