"We order our injection and repair materials that we apply under private label," Hans Bos, DGA at Special Industrial Repair (SIR) opens the conversation. "ADCOS is our manufacturing partner in this. The very reason we do business with them is not only because of the excellence of their products, but mainly because we work in partnership." Indeed, SIR works closely with the Belgian manufacturer: "We always look for added value in cooperation. 1+1=3, otherwise it makes no sense for us. If we have to solve calamities outside normal working hours and we need ADCOS, they are there. That's partnership."

ADCOS has its own R&D department with laboratory; SIR feedback comes in there directly from work. Bos: "These are comments, suggestions and wishes that are put 1 on 1 by our professionals to the technicians in the white coats. In turn, we test their innovations by actually applying them. By working this way, SIR is part of the R&D process. There is no better test, than a practical test."

The success of working together in good partnership

Benny van Laere is Business Development Manager at ADCOS NV in Malle. We talk to him about the intensive cooperation with SIR. ADCOS is a Belgian manufacturer specializing in construction chemicals for the construction industry. "We make materials for injections used to perform concrete repairs. Think of PUR injection systems, in both one and two component versions, acrylic injection systems and silicate injection systems. We also produce high-tech coatings for waterproofing surfaces," Benny explains.

SIR purchases -under its own label- from ADCOS, among others, PUR Inject ECO 115, PUR Inject Flex, Hydro Foam -a 1K product that reacts to water- and the SOIL Inject, a low viscosity PU compound, barely foaming. Why does SIR choose ADCOS? Benny: "Our products have a strong bond on sandy bottoms, gravel bottoms and unstable substrates, both above and below water. Even submerged concrete slabs can be stabilized again with our products." How long does a repair with PUR Inject last? "About 25 years," Benny answers. "But of course we cannot guarantee what is not visible." SIR has been a customer for about 10 years now, according to Benny, and both companies fit together, is his opinion. "We go for long-term cooperation.   

Relationships that we enter into with clients like SIR are better seen as partnerships. SIR is a true specialist, which is also why their help is called upon for projects such as the Nieuwe Sluis in Terneuzen and by COMOL5 for the RijnlandRoute. Time and again they achieve grandiose results through the combination of a strong product and solid craftsmanship."

The silent savior in the background

The work SIR does with ADCOS products is very important, yet it is rarely talked about. "Together we are a bit of the silent savior in the background and only come into the picture when there is a problem," Benny outlines. "It is often the case that the work is done in silence; once SIR has been, everyone can move on. That clients are happy with the fast and good solutions of SIR and ADCOS, that is beyond question." ADCOS now supplies in more than 50 countries worldwide. "We are proud of that," says Benny. "Especially when you consider that we develop and produce everything in-house. We have our own R&D department, with our own laboratory. Our people understand the business and offer support wherever possible, including on location. So we literally go all over the world."
