‘Technology is everywhere, direction makes the difference’

Automation is a strategic necessity

Anyone who visits LogiMAT sees it every year: impressive technology, increasingly compact systems and promises of unprecedented efficiency. But behind those innovations is a fundamental question that more and more logistics managers are grappling with. How do you ensure that automation not only looks smart, but actually contributes to reliable performance, scalability and a sound business case?

Especially in a market where warehouses are under pressure from staff shortages, limited space and increasing service demands, automation is a strategic necessity. At the same time, there is a growing awareness that technology alone is insufficient. Without cohesion, direction and long-term vision, automation threatens to become a complex set of partial solutions.

As usual, Reesink Logistic Solutions will also be present at LogiMAT this year to explain exactly that distinction. As a hardware-independent system integrator with end-to-end services, RLS does not focus on separate technology, but on the integral design, realization and maintenance of intralogistics solutions. The focus is not on the system, but on the operational reality of the customer.

Phased approach

In conversations with customers, RLS sees that many organizations want to move toward automation but struggle with where to start. Historically grown processes, fragmented IT landscapes and varying volumes make the risk of wrong choices real. This is precisely why RLS advocates a phased approach, in which automation is embedded in the operation step by step.

The first phase revolves around insight. By thoroughly analyzing order flows, processes, data and warehouse layout, a clear picture emerges of the automation potential and the preconditions for success. This phase prevents technology from being deployed where processes or organization are not yet prepared for it.

In the second phase, RLS translates this insight into a scalable system design. As a hardware-independent integrator, the company combines technologies such as automated storage and order processing systems (AS/RS) from AutoStore, for example, autonomous mobile robots, pallet shuttles or other subsystems into one cohesive whole. Modularity is central here, so that solutions fit the current operation and can grow along with future ambitions in a controlled way. The mutual alignment is ensured through LogiCS Warehouse Control Software, which connects systems, people and processes.

Directed

The third phase underscores the end-to-end role of RLS. Automation does not end at delivery. It is precisely in management, service and further development that the value of a solution is determined. By actively monitoring, maintaining and optimizing systems, performance remains predictable and the business case intact, even when volumes, assortments or market conditions change.

At LogiMAT, Reesink Logistic Solutions demonstrates that successful automation is not about speed or single innovations, but about directing the entire process. From initial analysis to long-term support. At a time when downtime is immediately felt in the chain, that direction is often the difference between a warehouse that grows with you and one that gets stuck.

At LogiMAT, Reesink Logistic Solutions can be found in Hall 1 - Stand 1C60.
