Optioryx, the 2023 scale-up awarded the title "Supply Chain Start-Up of the Year" by Supply Chain Masters and PICS Belgium, has successfully secured funding to support its ambitious plans for global expansion. Network Venture Partners, an initiative by and for entrepreneurs, backed by a network of entrepreneurial investors and family offices, has taken a minority stake in the fast-growing company.
Founded in 2022 by Gilles Vandewiele, Vic Degraeve and Bart Gadeyne, got Optioryx with immediate support from imec.istart. The start-up has specialized in optimizing warehouse and shipping processes via AI-driven microservices. This technology, described as "an AI layer on top of WMS & TMS" (warehouse & transport management systems), offers significant benefits, such as:
Increased picking productivity
Thanks to a unique algorithm, it reduces the walking distance for warehouse workers by 20% to 45%. The tool also provides actionable insights into warehouse organization through heatmaps.
Improved loading efficiency
An advanced 3D stacking algorithm enables more efficient box and pallet stacking and optimizes truck loading planning.
Mobile SKU and pallet sizing
The groundbreaking mobile app "Dimmy" offers a modern alternative to traditional sizing tools. This mobile solution is currently being rolled out globally. Optioryx is thus using AI technology to transform the logistics industry. Their goal is to improve the efficiency of shippers, 3PLs and retailers.
Bart Gadeyne, CEO and co-founder of Optioryx, explains: "We founded Optioryx to add additional intelligence to WMSs and TMSs, making logistics processes more efficient and smarter. With our AI-based solutions, we are introducing new standards in logistics and delivering significant value to our customers."
With these innovations, Optioryx has already garnered considerable praise and also attracted major customers such as Van Moer Logistics, Bleckmann and Stow International. Collaborations with global partners such as Deloitte and Zetes strengthen implementation capabilities and ensure scalability. Optioryx currently operates in eight countries and serves more than 30 customers worldwide.
"We are excited to welcome Network Venture Partners as a partner who will not only think with us financially, but also as a co-founder and support us in this exciting scale-up phase," Bart continued. "This investment enables further international growth of our AI-driven technology platform. The platform supports the core business of shippers, 3PLs and retailers."
Network Venture Partners is an initiative for and by entrepreneurs, focused on investing in and actively contributing to promising start-ups to help them grow. The organization combines the hands-on experience of founders of a successful global scale-up with the active support of a network of entrepreneurial investors and family offices.
Frederik De Witte, co-founder of Network Venture Partners, enthuses, "With Optioryx, we have found a partner with deep AI expertise and a proven track record in warehouse and shipping optimizations. We are eager to accelerate their global expansion and increase the impact of their breakthrough solutions."
