DHG has signed an agreement with Ontwikkeling Maatschappij Airport Lelystad Almere (OMALA) N.V. to purchase a plot of land of over 19 hectares at the Lelystad Airport Businesspark (LAB). DHG has already acquired the lot and will soon start the development of approximately 160,000 m² of high-quality distribution centers according to its SMARTLOG concept at its own risk.
DHG sees excellent opportunities in Lelystad for the development of high-quality logistics in combination with the unique multimodal possibilities offered by this location. LAB is located in the middle of the logistics hotspot Almere-Lelystad-Zeewolde and at the intersection of the A6 and the N302. In 2020, this location achieved third place in the logistics hotspot election by logistiek.nl. DHG has developed several distribution centers at various logistics hotspots in the Netherlands in recent years and also sees potential in this location to develop eight linked distribution centers for the market.
Onno Zwart, managing director of OMALA N.V., sees the cooperation with DHG as confirmation of the appeal and potential of Lelystad Airport Businesspark as one of the most prominent, innovative and sustainable business parks in our country.
