In 2025, Remitrans took an important step in its growth with the expansion of its site in Ghislenghien, Hainaut. The new warehouse of no less than 24,000 square meters, realized by Willy Naessens Industriebouw, excels in efficiency, sustainability and safety. For the latter, the transport company called on Profensa, a specialist in flexible crash protection. The result? A safe and professionally equipped logistics center that is ready for the future.
The cooperation between the two companies came about during the construction phase. “We wanted to take the protection in our warehouse to the next level,” says Frank Coppens, logistics manager at Remitrans. “Previously, we used metal collision protection with a base in concrete. These often remained askew after a collision and gave an unkempt impression. Profensa offered us a flexible plastic solution that scores much better both aesthetically and functionally. This way, we make a professional impression on both existing customers and prospects who visit.”
Kris Malfroot, co-manager of Profensa, adds: “We strategically placed our collision protection at the most high-risk points in the warehouse: loading and unloading docks, access gates, support pillars, fuse boxes, server cabinets, fire reels, wire mesh walls, and, where necessary, safe separation between pedestrian and forklift traffic. These flexible structures absorb the impact of a collision without causing structural damage - a sustainable investment that pays off in the long run.”

“Our flexible collision barriers are designed to absorb impact without damage to the floor or the barrier itself,” Malfroot said. “We calculate the impact value for each situation based on the weight and speed of vehicles. This allows us to offer exactly the right solution, tailored to the customer. At Remitrans, we analyzed the entire warehouse and planned security optimally.”
“The plastic barriers are attached with concrete screws. This is not only cost-saving in terms of installation, but also practical in terms of maintenance,” Coppens adds. “In addition, Profensa's safety solutions are resistant to chemicals and easy to clean - ideal in our warehouse where order and cleanliness are priorities, especially since we often §work for customers from the food sector.”

With this collaboration, Profensa and Remitrans emphasize the importance of safety as part of sustainable growth. Both companies share the same values: efficiency, reliability and respect for people and infrastructure.
“We are very proud of this project,” concludes Kris Malfroot. “It shows how thoughtful security solutions not only prevent damage, but also contribute to a safer and more productive work environment. And that is exactly what we stand for with Profensa.”
