Webfleet expands emissions reporting to include Scope 2 in TÜV Rheinland-certified CO₂ reporting tool

Webfleet, Bridgestone's leading global fleet management solution, expands its CO₂ reporting tool with more comprehensive and actionable insights. Certified by TÜV Rheinland[1], one of the world's most renowned certification bodies, the CO₂ reporting tool able to report both direct emissions (Scope 1)[2] and indirect emissions (Scope 2)[3] for their vehicles. This is done using calculations based on distance traveled and fuel usage. This expansion allows customers to use the Webfleet CO₂ report as a consistent method of monitoring emissions, regardless of vehicle type. With the addition of Scope 2 and distance-based measurement, the Webfleet CO₂ reporting tool leads the European market by calculating and analyzing Scope 1 and 2 emissions with two separate certified calculation methods. This marks an important milestone on the road to sustainable mobility.  

The Webfleet CO₂ report provides both real-time and historical trip data, complemented by monthly and annual insights. This enables fleet managers to comply with the EU's new Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). The tool distinguishes Scope 1 (direct emissions from internal combustion engine vehicles) and Scope 2 (indirect emissions from electricity purchased for electric vehicles), providing a clear and complete picture of the fleet's carbon footprint. In addition, the tool automatically calculates carbon dioxide equivalents (CO₂-eq), which includes emissions of carbon dioxide (CO₂), methane (CH₄) and nitrous oxide (N₂O). In doing so, the tool supports compliance with the renowned GHG Protocol, the standard norm for CSRD reporting.
