MTC-Trans and TSN Green join forces for zero-emission transport in Belgium and the Netherlands

In the May/June 2024 edition of this trade magazine, we introduced you to MTC-Trans. This transport company from Sint-Katelijne-Waver has as its baseline 'When Only The Best Is Good Enough'. The mission of managing director Yahya Amri and his team is clear: to offer high-quality, reliable and personalized warehousing and transport services in a smart and sustainable way. In October 2022, the company launched a partnership with TSN Groen, one of the most progressive Dutch service providers in sustainable logistics.

Yahya Amri launched MTC-Trans in October 2019. With nearly a quarter century of experience as a consultant in the logistics and e-commerce sector, he is the ideal helmsman aboard his transportation company. "MTC stands for 'My Transport Consult,' where I, together with my staff, want to take maximum care of customers for the delivery of large packages," Yahya said. "That is our specialty, and this through both one-man and two-man deliveries. At the start of our company, we worked as a subcontractor for large market players. In 2021, we made the switch to direct customer deliveries, with both owned and self-employed drivers. Thanks to that mix of permanent and hired employees, we respond smoothly to busy peak periods."

The power of digitization

In the corporate mission of MTC-Trans, a personalized approach and thorough digitalization are high on the agenda. More than that: both aspects go perfectly hand in hand. Yahya: "During my career I worked for large couriers and progressed from sorter to sales manager and regional manager. Among other things, this taught me how to set up pick-up points in a commercially attractive way. Today at MTC-Trans we have a powerful transport management system, with which we optimize loads and delivery routes, track freight and automate time-consuming repetitive tasks. We also make grateful use of digital technology for making delivery arrangements - including reminders upon delivery. This is how we focus on our core business with which we offer our customers real added value."

Inspiring collaboration

MTC-Trans wants to be and remain a leading market player in long-distance transport in the Benelux. To achieve this objective, Yahya is counting on foreign partners. One such partner is Dutch company TSN Groen, a progressive service provider in the field of fully sustainable logistics. With about 250 employees and a fleet of 100 vehicles, TSN Groen - the abbreviation for Transport Service Nederland - is a leader in zero-emission transport of consumer goods for retail centers. Together with his brother, Managing Director Jan Wouter Vlot is further expanding the family business. "We are well on our way to eventually becoming 100 percent CO2-neutral delivery. For us, by the way, sustainability goes beyond emission-free driving: we also want to leave our green mark in our personnel policy or in terms of material and waste management. For example, we invest in so-called 'refurb outlets', where people with a distance to the labor market give returned furniture from customers a second life."

Keep pushing boundaries

That sustainable approach - paying attention to people and the environment - is music to Yahya's ears. "As a young transport company, we cannot yet invest heavily in an electric fleet. The cooperation with TSN Groen - which we launched in October 2022 from our Antwerp hub - is therefore very valuable and inspiring for us. Our company values align very well, and thanks to the collaboration with TSN Groen, we can also drive green electric vehicles through the streets of Belgium."

Jan Wouter adds: "MTC-Trans is the ideal partner for us in transport and logistics. Because Yahya knows our sector inside out, we lift each other to a higher level. We understand each other's language of consumer transport and exchange interesting leads for the Belgian and Dutch markets. The short lines of communication between our companies are also an absolute asset for our employees and customers. On to new challenging logistics projects!"
