Integrated approach to collision protection

Lonza's new warehouses in Bornem (B) are a model of efficiency, safety and well thought-out project management. Infrasigna, Thierry Declercq's company, also made an important contribution to the latter. As specialists in industrial signage and collision protection, they installed no fewer than 73 bollards in, on and around the site.

"We deliberately focus on industrial environments," says Declercq. "We like to move quickly, and above all: we do more than just install. We think along and calculate everything down to the smallest details. Moreover, we can remain competitive by always starting with standard products, which we can then tailor to the customer's needs."

Infrasigna is known for its integrated approach. Preferably, we are called in during the final phase of a construction project, just before completion. "Our products - think bollards, parking infrastructure and safety signage - are finishing elements. We make sure everything looks tight when the key is handed over," Declercq said.

Transparent approach

In the project for Lonza, Infrasigna was involved early on through general contractor Verhelst. "In such cases, we already make an offer in the calculation phase. This allows the contractor to correctly work out a proposal to the end customer, without surprises afterwards," explains Declercq. This approach paid off: the team was given the green light to carry out the complete collision protection.

It involved a significant number of bumping poles spread across loading docks, exterior gates, hydrants and the corners of the building. What made the project special was the customization. "The bumping poles had to be higher than standard. We were able to offer that effortlessly - something that not every player in the market just manages to do," says the business manager proudly.

Flexibility trumps

As so often, not everything went according to the original schedule in Bornem. Due to weather conditions, Infrasigna had to split its site planning into two phases. "First the inside, later the outside once the asphalt works were finished," explains Declercq. "At the customer's request, we made some adjustments in the interim. That flexibility is in our DNA."

Confidence and quick action

Cooperation with Verhelst and others on the construction site went smoothly. "We are often called in by well-known contractors and play close to the ball. The trust is there, and you can feel that in everything," concludes Thierry Declercq.

With projects like Lonza's, Infrasigna confirms its role as a reliable partner for industrial signage and collision protection - fast, accurate and always customized.
