A-SAFE doesn't want to be just another vendor. It wants first and foremost to be an advisor to the companies that come knocking looking for plastic collision protection. This approach results in long-term partnerships with some of the world's largest brands with the busiest work environments.

A-SAFE, founded in 1984 in Britain, was the first company worldwide to market plastic crash protection. Today it is still the largest in that industry by revenue. A Belgian subsidiary was established in 2016 to take control of the national and Luxembourg operations. "We always visit the customer on site to map the entire internal flow. On this basis, we offer an A-SAFE solution. We take into account a number of important parameters such as forklift weight, load weight, approach speed, approach angle and optimal risk analysis," says Dries Aneca, Sales Manager Belux. "I myself obtained the certificate Prevention Advisor Level 2, precisely to be able to offer that added value in terms of legal framing."

Sensors monitor racks

"The great advantage of plastic collision protection is that it can absorb the impact without consequential damage to the barrier and paint damage to the vehicle. This is true even for vehicles with a mass of 10 tons that collide at a speed of 10 kilometers per hour. Maintenance and repair costs are therefore virtually zero." Today, A-SAFE is strongly committed to digital innovation. "We are already working with RackEye sensors on our rack racks to monitor the impact of forklifts. In the course of this year, we are transposing that technology to our barriers to apply data analysis there as well. Because measuring is knowing!"

Booming business

A-SAFE's customer portfolio is extensive. From business parks to retailers to the largest logistics players. "As soon as one mobile work equipment is present, we can offer solutions for both indoor and outdoor applications. We are also HACCP approved so we can also serve the food sector. And our new booming business is charging station protection, which is a legal requirement."
