On Jan. 28 of this year, Engcon founder and owner Stig Engström was honored with the Royal Medal of the 12the order with royal blue ribbon for his meaningful efforts within Swedish business. Due to the pandemic, it was not previously possible to award the royal medal in person, but recently Engström was allowed to receive this honorable award from His Majesty the King at a medal ceremony at the Royal Palace in Stockholm.
This royal decoration originated in the year 1814, and was formerly also called the Court Medal. It is awarded to Swedish and foreign citizens for special merits and to officers of the Royal Court for long and faithful service. This year, this honorable medal went to Stig Engström, founder of Engcon, for his significant commitment to Swedish business.
Now that the coronation measures have been lifted, the award ceremony was held at Stockholms Slott, the Swedish Royal Palace.
His Majesty the King was present along with Her Majesty Queen Silvia to present the medal to Stig Engström and the other medalists.
"I am extremely pleased and proud to be present at the castle and to receive this medal personally from H.M. the King," says Stig Engström.
