Bachelor Supply Chain Management generates sustainable impact

Coveted profiles in the labor market

For those who aspire to an active career in the logistics sector, the professional bachelor's program in Supply Chain Management at HOGENT offers a more than solid foundation. That they are coveted profiles on the labor market is beyond question.

Supply Chain Management is a graduate program within the broad business management program. Unlike other universities of applied sciences, HOGENT chooses to give the major its own profile right from the first year. "Already in the first lesson, the link is made to professional life and students are introduced to how to optimize the entire chain: from purchasing to warehousing, production, sales, logistics and customer service," says Fabienne Mornie, who coordinates the graduate course content. "Students work with suppliers and buyers, both nationally and internationally. The ultimate goal is to teach our students the tools to generate a sustainable impact on the entire supply chain. And this by organizing the different links in a thoughtful way."

Current Courses

Mornie stresses that most of the professors have accumulated experience in the logistics field. Several of them today combine a teaching assignment with a position in industry. This allows them to keep their finger on the pulse perfectly and their course always remains current. "It also helps us to develop close cooperation with the professional field regionally, nationally and internationally. But we also join forces with other colleges and universities to share our knowledge widely."

Approved customs representative

The program offered by HOGENT meets several national and international quality labels. The program has recognition as specialized training in customs, VAT and excise regulations. Graduates can be registered in the tribal register as an accredited customs representative. The diploma also gives access to the profession of independent freight forwarder. At the very least, this is a strong asset for an international career.
