Asamco is a cooperative purchasing group with 76 members representing 91 branches in Belgium. From their new base of operations in Bornem, the company uses Plastibac's solutions to sustainably and efficiently ship their goods to their members. Asamco's new warehouse acts as a cross docking hub for members. This allows them to enjoy the volume advantage through group purchases delivered to Asamco. In addition, private labels are also delivered through the hub.

Members are delivered twice a week by a fleet of five trucks. [GV1] In parallel with the commissioning of the new site in Bornem, a new WMS system was also implemented.
ASAMCO invested in the EURONORM rotary stacking bins to serve as ‘carriers’ for smaller products.
First of all, the company wants to bring down its cardboard consumption. Besides the undeniable ecological aspect, this is at the same time a major saving. In doing so, ASAMCO wants to move toward a principle of reusability, but also convenience. The bins are convenient due to their ergonomic handles and stack/nest function. In empty return transport, the bins nest together and the space required for this is very limited. The bins are also robust for long-term use.

Each bin has a unique barcode, ensuring perfect traceability at all times. With each delivery to a member, filled bins arrive and empty bins return. Upon arrival at the central warehouse, they are scanned and return to the circuit. In addition to traceability, there is also an increased need for logistical messaging among members. These bins combined with the WMS system indirectly contribute to this available information.
Asamco also facilitates intertrade for its members. They can order products from each other which are then picked up and delivered with the Euronorm turntable bins via weekly transport. Thus the EURONORM turntable bins contribute to more efficient and sustainable logistics at ASAMCO cooperatives.
