Katoen Natie is pleased to announce the acquisition of Crossport, a logistics service provider offering warehousing and logistics services in Wachtebeke, near Ghent in Belgium.
After the recent acquisition of Transport L'Ecluse, this is a second acquisition that strengthens Katoen Natie's market position in the port of Ghent. On the right and left banks of the Ghent-Terneuzen canal, Katoen Natie owns and operates several logistics platforms with a total storage capacity of 375,000 m². With the acquisition of Crossport, the footprint in Ghent is further expanded and customers who import/export their cargo through the neighboring ports of Antwerp, Zeebrugge and Terneuzen can be served.
Founded in 2016, Crossport offers value-added logistics services such as container stuffing and cross-docking of general cargo. The company employs 15 people and has a total storage capacity of 120,000 m² of which
51,000 sq. ft. is covered.
In recent years, Crossport's management has made significant investments to improve warehouses and service levels. Katoen Natie will continue this path and secure Crossport's future growth.
The combination of Katoen Natie and Crossport provides an even better service for our customers in the port of Ghent.
