The company from Hoogstraten is celebrating its fiftieth anniversary this year. Time for a brief portrait, with an inspiring construction project in the spotlight.

The story of Bolckmans starts in 1973. In that year the company started from the Noorderkempen as a barn builder for farmers. In the mid-1980s it completed its first major projects in the port of Antwerp. In recent decades, the company has grown into an all-round player in industrial construction, with projects in concrete, steel and wood. By choosing prefabricated construction, the Bolckmans team succeeds in delivering cost-efficient, high-quality and very sustainable projects. Before the first proverbial stone is laid, they draw every building - from office space to warehouse - in minute detail using a BIM model. 

In-house team of experts

Thanks to a team of 140 permanent employees, supplemented by an extensive team of subcontractors, Bolckmans is able to realize the construction dreams of all its customers. Customized and hands-on. 

Based on a tightly managed process, an in-house team of engineers and architects fully elaborates each building design, always in consultation with the customer's architect. Because Bolckmans has very little staff turnover, the company has built up a wealth of valuable expertise over the past decades. Focus on sustainability and customized contract formulas

Bolckmans' engineering team focuses daily on themes such as sustainability (BREEAM, WELL...), the CO2 ladder, total cost of ownership, life cycle costing and other technical aspects that make the difference in the construction of a commercial building. With adapted contract formulas, such as construction team, design & construct and turnkey, among others, customers enjoy competitive price conditions, coupled with fast and efficient cooperation between all parties.

Project in the spotlight

One of the projects the Bolckmans team is very proud of is the design and construction of a warehouse space with office for Ethnicraft. This Belgian company has been designing and producing authentic, modern and timeless furniture in solid wood for more than 25 years. For this ambitious company - which also has new buildings constructed in France and the US - Bolckmans built a new facility in Boom. It is made of concrete, glass and wood, with a central focus on sustainability and the well-being of employees and visitors. ■
