Logistics player EUTRACO continues growth in Willebroek with nearly 60,000 m² of new warehouse space

Substantial expansion creates 45 new jobs

Logistics service provider EUTRACO is taking up almost 60,000 sq. m. of new warehouse space in Willebroek. This is the distribution center that sports retail chain Decathlon is largely leaving by the end of this year. EUTRACO's expansion will create 45 new jobs, mainly for logistics employees. "When we heard that the distribution center was being released again, we didn't hesitate for a moment." says Serge Gregoir, CEO of EUTRACO. "The expansion with this storage space is more than necessary to further support the growth of our logistics services."

EUTRACO, one of the fastest growing logistics companies in Belgium, remains committed to further expansion. With the inauguration of the Decathlon distribution center, located along Schoondonkweg in Willebroek, the company is taking another important step in the further expansion of its activities. Serge Gregoir, CEO of EUTRACO, is delighted with this new phase.

"With this distribution center that we are going to put into operation, our logistics footprint in Willebroek will be a little larger again. It involves 41,000 m² of storage space and 18,000 m² of mezzanine. All together almost 60,000 m². After some minor adjustments to the layout of the building, we will be ready to house our logistics activities there by the turn of the year. That involves receiving goods, storage, distribution and shipping for our customers in numerous sectors." Serge Gregoir, CEO EUTRACO.

Additional employment

As this is a significant expansion for this region, EUTRACO is looking for 45 new workers. These are mainly technical profiles familiar with the logistics sector or distribution. The company is confident of finding these people, even though the labor market is tight.

EUTRACO's expansion is also good news for the municipality of Willebroek, which has long profiled itself as a logistics hub between Brussels and Antwerp.

"When a company wants to expand, it is always a sign of confidence and radiates positively to our municipality and its residents. In this region, Willebroek is the logistics hub par excellence, creating a lot of jobs. If EUTRACO decides to continue its expansion here, we can only welcome and support that." Eddy Bevers, mayor of Willebroek.

Sustainability central

EUTRACO will not just move into the former Decathlon distribution center. The building will evolve further in the coming months to become a completely CO2-neutral building. Heat pumps will be installed so that gas can be phased out completely from early 2025.

"Sustainability is not an empty phrase at EUTRACO. We are investing heavily in solar panels, heat pumps, battery systems, electric trucks and charging stations. We notice that our customers are really asking for more sustainability and energy-efficient solutions. So it's good for the environment as well as for our customers." Serge Gregoir, CEO EUTRACO.
