For the construction of a second distribution center on its site in Ollignies, Colruyt Group partnered with Vulsteke Bedrijfsgebouwen. Both parties give a very high score to their cooperation. That certainly benefits open communication." The new logistics center will be used for the retailer's non-food range and designed with the challenges of the future in mind. Built in a precast concrete structure with precast external walls, the building has 45 loading docks. The concrete floor with flatness class 1 is on pile foundations and will accommodate an automatic OSR shelving warehouse. In addition to the 20,000 m² large warehouse the building also counts 2,000 m² social classrooms. 

Parking for cars and trucks

Furthermore, Vulsteke Company Buildings was also in charge of exterior landscaping. The to-do list included the expansion of the staff parking area (gravel), a tractor parking area for trucks (concrete), waiting lanes for trucks, a storage area for transport carts and pedestrian paths (clinkers) for staff. Vulsteke Company Buildings also realized the underground construction of the techniques, including the installation of sewage systems, waiting lines and electrical cables, and water and heating pipes. This involved underground directional drilling, taking into account the underground pipes already present on the site. "Vulsteke did everything possible to minimize the impact on the operational functioning of the site.
