New security module for water and wastewater engineering

New security module for water and wastewater technology

With a new module, KSB unlocks new safety and control functions for its pumps as well as mixers with submersible motors.

The module marketed under the name Amacontrol III monitors the phase sequence, recognizes a possible phase failure, occurring over- and undervoltages as well as possible occurring voltage asymmetry. In addition, temperature sensors, two conductivity sensors for leakage control as well as a 4-20 mA signal can be monitored. The switching frequency, number of operating hours and failures of the connected sensors can also be recorded.

A fault and an alarm relay ensure the safe shutdown of the units or the activation of a prior alarm notification. In addition to operating data, fault lists, fault counters, operating times, switching cycles and current measured values, the integrated diagnostic function also provides a detailed fault analysis of the last faults (via a predefined time window). Thus, it is possible to monitor the monitored aggregates via an app on a smartphone or a tablet and evaluate the data from the protection module.

With the various accessories, there is also the possibility of sending the acquired data to an existing data recording system or the cloud.

The module is mounted on a 35 mm standard rail in the control cabinet. Removable spring-loaded terminals are used for cabling. The module has a supply voltage of 24 V direct current or single-phase alternating current of 115 or 230 V and a frequency of 50 to 60 Hz. With the modules supplied by KSB, all values required for operation are preset.

KSB is one of the world's leading manufacturers of pumps, valves and associated systems for industry and building services, water and wastewater management as well as energy technology and mining. The group is represented on all continents with its own sales organizations, production and service companies. The Dutch subsidiary KSB Netherlands is based in Zwanenburg.
