Welcome to Logistic & Industrial Build!
During the 2022 edition of the successful Transport & Logistics trade show in Ghent, organizer Easyfairs launched the new feature Logistic & Industrial Build, especially tailored to players in the logistics and industrial real estate and construction sectors. The kick-off was a great success, and so as of this year, Logistic & Industrial Build will have its own commercial networking platform. Welcome to this brand new trade event!
Last year, logistics and real estate professionals gathered at Flanders Expo (Ghent) to network, exchange inspiring business ideas and close business deals. They visited the exhibition stands of some 30 exhibitors from the logistics and industrial real estate and construction sectors.
According to Nadine Francus, Group Event Director at Easyfairs, this pilot project demonstrated the need for a separate trade show for the logistics and industrial real estate and construction industry. "Players in the logistics real estate and construction sector and decision makers from companies clearly need their own platform to meet and exchange expertise. In this strongly growing market, with Logistic & Industrial Build we want to become the leading event for professionals who make smart, sustainable and energy-neutral building a top priority. During our event, we focus on all solutions and services that are an integral part of logistics buildings. Think for example of industrial floors, (green) roofs, windows and doors, metal and wood constructions, solar panels, security systems and lighting. At Transport & Logistics, in turn, there is plenty of room for all the applications you use to make your warehouse operational, such as racking, forklifts, vehicles and robots. Hence a perfect match for this new event to take place simultaneously."
Nadine is convinced that Logistic & Industrial Build will be a successful spin-off of "big brother" Transport & Logistics. Which this year in Antwerp accounts for 300 exhibitors and over 10,000 professional visitors in five expo halls. "And currently the counter stands at 53 exhibitors and partners for our new trade fair, which is quite a hit," she confirms. "Over three days, we present them with an exciting program tailored to their core activities. Partners such as Bouwunie, Grondwijzer and UNIZO provide targeted advice. Because the exhibitors of our new event are scattered throughout the five expo halls, we offer visitors a 'guided tour' so they can visit each booth. The stands will also stand out thanks to specific signage."
What specifically does the Logistic & Industrial Build program look like? Nadine proudly outlines the wide range of topics that will be covered. "On Oct. 17, we will organize a panel discussion with real estate journalist Patrick Luysterman as moderator. Trends in logistics and industrial real estate will be addressed by, among others, Mathieu Opsomer (JLL), Kristof De Witte (WDP), Luc Ysebaert (Willy Naessens) and Kurt Bomhals (POM Antwerp).
A debate on Blue Gate Antwerp is also scheduled. This will feature Antwerp alderman Erica Caluwaerts, Xavier van Reeth (Montea), Bert Weemaes (Cordeel Group), Bert Calluy (Van Moer Logistics) and Erwin Vrijens (Head of Real Estate PMV). During a concluding informal networking drink, we mulled over these themes."
"Also on October 18, we guarantee our visitors an educational program, with a breakfast session presented by specialists from Bouwunie. They will focus on five hot topics in industrial construction. Circular construction, PFAS and the application of BIM will be discussed. Following this, VLAIO, EnergyVille and VIL will also be on hand for compact presentations on sustainable logistics, smart energy management and new trends in the sector."
Needless to say, Nadine and her colleagues are rolling out the red carpet for exhibitors as well as visitors to Logistic & Industrial Build, which takes place together with Transport & Logistics 2023 at Antwerp Expo. "In terms of logistics and real estate, the investment volume in 2021 reached the second highest level ever in Belgium. Existing industrial and logistics real estate users are increasingly committed to meeting net-zero targets in terms of energy-efficient construction and renovation. The presence of various A-players from the sector, combined with an impressive load of new insights, inspiration and contacts, means that our co-event has been ticked off many working agendas. What is undoubtedly also an asset is that we welcome players from dozens of sectors. From HVAC to security, from real estate consultancy to roofing and from lighting to solar panel installers." ■
