“At least we don't need a booth builder,” laughs Paul van Rijen when asked what visitors can expect at LogiMAT. “After all, the booth is our product.” Van Rijen is general manager of Anera, one of the few producers of decking in Europe with its own uniquely designed construction system based on a Euro-profile. Being one of the first to replace conventional, hot-rolled steel with cold-rolled solutions 38 years ago, the company has built a huge lead and achieved a high level of engineering.
Van Rijen emphasizes that the company deliberately focuses on mezzanine logistics floors: “We are not broadly active in steel construction, but have been doing nothing but designing, producing and assembling mezzanine floors for decades. As a result, our knowledge of cold-formed steel structures is unprecedentedly deep. Since we are engaged by renowned organizations from all over Europe, we have a large palette of structural solutions at our disposal,” says Van Rijen. “As a result, we almost always find a design that works, without compromising on safety or functionality.”

What sets Anera apart is its self-designed, smart building system that revolves around standardization and flexibility. “Our system is developed in such a way that we work with as many standardized components as possible, which leads to a high durability guarantee, and yet have enormous flexibility in design. That makes it possible to work completely project-specific at a price-engineered level.”

A common desire from customers is to use as few uprights as possible. “However, existing buildings have their limitations,” Van Rijen explains. “The reaction forces on a concrete floor simply cannot become too great. We constantly have to balance between customer requirements and the possibilities offered by a building. Fortunately, we have a lot of experience with a wide variety of issues, so we can actually always find a way to match the client's wishes with the building's capabilities.”
Years of experience also comes in handy when Anera is asked to make steel structures to support or connect third-party logistics systems. These so-called system integrator constructions Anera makes on a large scale for automation solutions such as AGV systems, conveyors, sorting systems, pouch sorters, order picking and packaging lines.

Not only do the structures contribute to a circular economy due to their reusability, the chosen production method is also energy efficient. After all, cold rolling requires much less energy than traditional hot rolling. Moreover, Anera offers solutions where they produce cold-rolled beams from Green Steel. This material meets strict criteria. For example, it must be made with a minimum of 75% recycled material.

Anera produces all components in the Netherlands and manages the entire process itself: from engineering and production to project supervision and delivery. With about 85 employees, many of whom are active in engineering and project management, the company has a solid design and computing power. “We therefore dare to give a one hundred percent guarantee on our delivery reliability,” he says.”

Every two years, Anera designs a new booth in which they bring together different applications and innovations. What new development can visitors to LogiMAT expect this year? “The biggest trend we are observing at the moment is mezzanine floors deployed for Goods-To-Person AMR Robots. At every trade show, we show various construction options and think along with visitors” issues. We like to put the creative puzzle in which we fit their wishes, within the possibilities of their building, as efficiently as possible," Van Rijen concludes.
At LogiMAT, Anera can be found in Hall 1G - Stand 1GA66.
