Introlution rebrands its logistics slot booking to Dockplanner

Queues at loading docks, unexpected peak times and chaotic communication with transporters: these are familiar frustrations in the logistics sector. Introlution, a Belgian software company with a focus on supply chain digitalization, developed Dockplanner: a web-based, user-friendly diary that helps companies organize the loading and unloading process clearly, flexibly and efficiently. “With Dockplanner, we want to bring calm to an often hectic schedule,” said Davy Van Holder, co-managing director of Introlution.

Dockplanner is a digital calendar for logistics appointments, designed to spread and better manage transport flows. Transporters can book their own loading or unloading times within a predefined framework. This results in better distribution of volumes throughout the day and less chaos on site.

“Many companies today still schedule via mail, phone or Excel. That is error-prone and burdensome for employees,” says Van Holder. “With our tool, we offer a transparent system where everyone - internal and external - always knows where and when what is happening.”

The tool is completely Web-based and requires no installation or local backups. “You just log in through the browser. We deliberately keep it low-threshold,” Van Holder said.

Real-time tracking and integration with ERP

In addition to overview, Dockplanner also offers automation. Via QR code scanning or license plate recognition, a transport is automatically registered upon arrival. Each appointment is given a unique booking number and statuses such as ‘arrived’, ‘processed’, ‘late’ or ‘canceled’ are updated in real time.

“This keeps your planning not only current, but also historically traceable. And yes, linking with your ERP or WMS is perfectly possible via our free API,” the Introlution co-manager emphasizes. “We deliberately make the system as open as possible. No closed silos.”

Added value for both warehouse and carrier

The results of Dockplanner are tangible, according to customer feedback. Fewer phones, fewer error margins, fewer wait times.

“Carriers book their slot themselves at a time that is convenient for them. That way you spread the volumes and avoid having five trucks at your gate at the same time,” says Van Holder. “And on the other hand, your warehouse personnel know perfectly what's coming when. That gives breathing room and better employability.”

During busy periods, the planner can easily open additional slots or rearrange the schedule. “Flexibility is crucial,” Van Holder states. “No one wants a system that works against them. Dockplanner adapts to the reality of your shop floor, not the other way around.”

Introlution arose from a thesis of two passionate business engineers: Davy Van Holder and Pieter De Lannoy.
