In 2024, Volvo Trucks opened a state-of-the-art storage warehouse in Ghent, specially designed to meet the sector's growing logistics requirements. When designing the warehouse, the focus was on safety and efficiency. To achieve these objectives, Profensa supplied advanced collision protection. The protection plays an essential role in protecting gates and demarcating walkways.
In the sector of machine fencing, logistics barriers and collision protection, Profensa, based in Ninove, East Flanders, is a well-known player. "Those who arrange their warehouse safely are investing in maximum efficiency and safety of logistics operations. We guide our customers in optimizing their warehouse layout and choosing the right security solutions based on impact values," said co-manager Yves Malfroot.
"For a state-of-the-art new Volvo Trucks storage warehouse, we were allowed to design and install numerous innovative safety solutions," adds brother and co-manager Kris Malfroot. "We equipped the warehouse with striking yellow safety fences. They serve as a physical barrier to separate pedestrian paths from forklifts and other internal transport. The fences are made of durable materials that can withstand heavy loads and collisions. This minimizes the risk of workplace accidents."
"We also installed strategically placed gate guards to prevent loading and unloading gates from being damaged by vehicles. This keeps the warehouse infrastructure intact and the company hardly faces any repair costs."
Yves complements his brother: "The new Volvo Trucks warehouse is not only a model of safety, but also of sustainability. The building is designed with energy-efficient systems. And the safety features we provide with Profensa contribute to more efficient internal logistics. Less downtime due to damage or incidents means that the flow of logistics can continue uninterrupted. That, of course, also has a positive impact on productivity."
The installation of high-quality crash protection reflects Volvo Trucks' commitment to a safe working environment. Kris: "Our team is proud to have been able to contribute to this innovative project. With this warehouse, Volvo Trucks is setting a new standard in safety and logistics innovation. This approach perfectly matches our own company values."
"At Profensa, we strive not only for high-quality solutions, but also for seamless and efficient service," confirms Yves. "Despite the diversity of possible solutions, we deliver products according to acceptable deadlines. Moreover, we can also provide installation. Whether it's performing the installation, guiding installers during assembly or providing support to partners, integrators or customers: we always provide immediate feedback to ensure the best service."
