Exceptional impact resistance of durable collision protection

They are exhibiting at the Transport & Logistics Expo in Antwerp and the Logistica Next trade show in Utrecht, among others.

Their recent acquisition of plastic manufacturer Celtiplast was the icing on the cake of their 25th anniversary this year. "The acquisition enables us to manage the entire production chain internally. This leads to even more control over quality and innovation and guarantees fast lead times," explains Emmanuel Lioen, who works as marketing and e-commerce manager at Boplan.

Sustainability

The company operates with a strong focus on sustainability. Twan den Hartog, general manager Boplan Netherlands: "That already starts with our R&D processes. These ensure a modular design consisting of as few parts as possible. If a collision occurs that is heavier than expected, there is no need to replace the entire barrier, only one or two parts. Moreover, the products are very robust which gives them a long service life. When this lifespan ends, we can take them back and recycle them, taking up to 95 percent of the weight into existing recycling streams. Quite a few products are even 100 percent recyclable such as the new range of protective posts, the RACKBULL® rack protection, the AXES GATE safety gate and the KP PROTECTOR column protection."

Lioen adds: "Our sustainable practices have resulted in a wonderful EcoVadis Silver sustainability rating. With our score of 73/100, we are among the top four percent within our industry."

Transparent working method

Boplan wants to offer transparency and has therefore developed the online Boplan Impact Calculator. It allows you to easily calculate the required impact resistance for your safety and crash protection equipment in the workplace. The tool provides instant recommendations on the ideal type and strength of safety barriers and equipment needed to avoid accidents and protect valuable assets. Den Hartog: "Safety is, of course, an abstract concept. This calculator makes it a little more concrete. It requires only three parameters and shows the outcome in joules. The same joules are also found on our website with the products. So you can see exactly what you need, but it can also confirm that not too much or too little protective equipment has been recommended."

Automatic security gate

Lioen elaborates on this: "At trade shows, visitors can fill out the calculator with us. One can also find a number of new products on the stand, in addition to the so-called all time best products. Think of our automatic security gate, the FLEX IMPACT® DG250R AE. This motorized safety gate with double beams functions as fall protection at loading docks or as an impact-resistant barrier to close off access to a certain area. In addition, we have developed the Safety Guard. This movable safety cone is ideal for signaling obstacles and indicating driving directions. Useful in locations where traffic conditions change frequently and quickly. We recently fitted it with lighting so that it has an even better signaling function.
