A safe workplace is not only a legal requirement. It is also the basis for an efficient logistics and production environment. Profensa supports companies in this with smart and configurable solutions for machine guarding, collision protection and signaling. The mission? To keep people away from dangerous areas, thus preventing accidents and optimizing processes.
In the spring of 2025, Profensa completed two challenging projects that perfectly illustrate the team's expertise. At a new Volvo Trucks logistics center in Ghent, Profensa experts analyzed forklift routes, storage areas and walking routes in detail. Based on the flow of goods, the speed of vehicles and the weight of loads, impact values were accurately calculated. That analysis led to a well thought-out plan with flexible collision protection that absorbs heavy impacts without causing damage. Not to vehicles, not to the floor, and above all: not to people.
A second practical case is a production environment at Smurfit Westrock in Dilbeek, a leading company in the production of cardboard solutions. Here, the emphasis was on shielding sensitive installations and workplaces. In areas where people, machines and vehicles work in close proximity to each other, Profensa placed adapted 'pedestrian & impact barriers'. These barriers are not only compact and strong, but also resistant to scratches, cold and chemical influences. Their configurable nature also makes them perfect for customized solutions, tailored to the customer's specific situation.
An added bonus at Profensa is the cooperation with a permanent partner for signage, which not only provides physical security but also clear visual indications for operators and visitors. This combination significantly increases safety and clarity on the shop floor.
"Our collision protection solutions have a compact shape, high impact resistance and simple mounting options," says case manager Yves Malfroot. "But equally important is our approach: we think with the customer, work efficiently and deliver quickly. From analysis to installation - which, incidentally, we perform entirely in-house - we ensure quality and precision. Safety is always our priority."
