Lines and labels: the foundation of a professional warehouse

Clear labeling, clean lines and smart signage are indispensable for a smooth and professional logistics process. For thirty years, Verma has played a central role within the logistics sector. "Customers are increasingly looking for total relief," say owners Rob Michelbrink and Pascal Bosse on behalf of Verma Signing and Rob Huijerjans as co-owner of Verma Belijning.

The logistics world grew explosively and professionalized at a rapid pace, Michelbrink and Bosse saw up close. Yet some principles remain unchanged: a DC or warehouse must be logically laid out and recognizable, so that people and goods can find their way safely and efficiently. "With new construction, companies want to be operational quickly," Michelbrink explains. "Location markings and lining are often the last steps in that process. Especially then it's up to us to perfectly match the customer's planning."

For a WMS package to be truly profitable, its labeling, signage and lining must also be optimized.

Warehouse Signs Lines & Labels as a specialty

Verma is a specialist in three crucial pillars: barcode labels, lining and signage. Innovations such as removable self-adhesive labels and the multilabel, which makes multiple locations easily scannable, have been introduced to the market by Verma and are now indispensable in a warehouse or warehouse. "Over the years, we have become the expert in these areas, and we are now proud to carry that out," Huijerjans said. "Our new corporate identity that will soon be launched underlines that."

From manufacturing company to logistics provider

The company supports small manufacturing companies as well as large logistics service providers such as Rhenus Logistics, DHL and ID Logistics. "With logistics service providers, we often see recurring projects. As soon as the customer base changes, an adjustment in the warehouse follows, Bosse explains. "For manufacturing companies, signing is less common, but all the more important for safety and efficiency." Regardless of the racking supplier, Verma always provides customization, delivering a suitable solution for every storage method.

Labels as a hub of efficiency

Over the past thirty years, Verma has helped countless logistics companies in the Netherlands and Belgium to further professionalize. Where the focus used to be on storage methods and manual search processes, there is now a growing need to record data and make processes transparent. Labels play a key role in this: they make goods traceable and linkable to WMS systems, increasing both efficiency and reliability.

Critical eye as added value

Verma provides not only barcode labels, lineation and signage, but also a critical, collaborative approach. "Our consultants always think along with us about a logical and safe layout," Bosse says. "We speak the language of both the warehouse manager and the logistics consultants and rack builders. That ensures clarity, better cooperation and ultimately a better result."

A WMS package only delivers true efficiency if labeling, signage and lining are also optimally arranged. Moreover, safe walking routes and clear markings are becoming increasingly important due to health and safety requirements: pedestrians on walkways, forklifts on lanes and maximum recognizability in the warehouse.

Growing with attention to employees

Verma operates in several European countries and has offices in the Netherlands and Belgium. Soon the Dutch branch will move to new premises that will provide room for further growth. "We have grown from a few employees to over, 30 colleagues," Bosse said. "With the new premises we are investing not only in our customers, sustainability but also in the well-being and job satisfaction of our team."
