Water Education exists 25 years

On November 1, 1994, Wateropleidingen started organizing training courses for the water sector. Today, the water sector training institute is celebrating its 25th anniversary. In 25 years, more than 50,000 water industry trainees have participated in 388 different course titles in areas including drinking water, water management, sewerage & urban water, water safety and more.

Establishment of Water Education

On the initiative of Vewin and VWN (Vereniging Waterleidingbelangen in Nederland), a committee was started in 1990 with the NVA (Nederlandse Vereniging voor Waterbeheer) as an observer on the committee. This committee did not proceed overnight. In 1993, Wateropleidingen was finally established with VEWIN, NVA, VWN and Kiwa as the founding fathers. On November 1, 1994, the training institute started with 8 courses and the goal: to 'promote and organize training in the fields of drinking water supply, wastewater transport, wastewater treatment and water management by organizing courses, conducting examinations, issuing teaching materials, providing information, all other lawful means conducive to the objective'.

Water courses in 2019

A lot has happened in 25 years in terms of developing and training professionals in the water sector. The water sector now has its own training institute with industry-recognized diplomas. Wateropleidingen has expanded its course offerings to more than 100 current training programs and courses on numerous "wet" topics. And it's not just about facts, but about exchanging experience and really learning from each other! Facts are on the Internet, experience and knowledge is created in sharing. Wateropleidingen provides more services besides organizing training. After all, a diploma and continuing education alone is no longer enough. You cannot offer today's employee anything less than lifelong learning and a development program. Wateropleidingen also provides: corporate training programs, certification of professionals, knowledge scans, e-learnings, mentoring, international training and securing knowledge of outgoing staff. Water courses = craftsmanship. For 25 years, and many more to come.

Those with a birthday, treats! Wateropleidingen thanks the water sector for the trust placed in them. To treat the entire sector, it has developed a free e-learning as a treat. The e-learning consists of 2 parts in which you first get acquainted with legionella and the risks and then learn more about the legislation surrounding legionella prevention.
