Vehicle restrictions in the city ... many a construction and civil engineering company has to deal with this. The need for a way in which large machinery can be transported without a truck is growing rapidly.
As an inventive manufacturer that has been constantly moving with market demand for forty years, Veldhuizen BV immediately adapts its sales and rental fleet. "If the requirements of inner-city construction logistics change, we make the trucks suitable for that where possible," says Pieter Veldhuizen. Veldhuizen is also happy to accommodate other customer requirements and wishes. In total, Veldhuizen has already manufactured more than 1,000 trailers and 8,500 semi-trailers and drive-up trucks, and a manufacture of 500 BE tractors is added annually.
With a loading floor height of 35 cm and a ramp angle of about 12 degrees, it can be loaded low.
'A need arose from the market for a light trailer with a large load capacity on which large machines could be transported legally behind a bus. With our new variant, we have responded to that need as well as possible. The trailer has a net weight of 490 kilograms and a very high payload of a total of 3500 kilograms. With a lock for 3.5 T for trailer axles, someone with a BE driving license can hang this trailer behind their van just fine."
The trailer has a long service life because the chassis is made of galvanized steel. The beams have become 33% lighter. Even the bottom profiles, normally made of hardwood, are now 50% lighter due to the use of aluminum. "But with comparable service life," Veldhuizen adds. "The lightweight aluminum brake drums have also become 45% lighter, and the axles are made of high-grade steel, using techniques equivalent to those used in Formula 1 for the axle components."
Although slightly more expensive to purchase, the possibilities are endless and there is no longer any need to rent a truck. Veldhuizen expects that the trailer will be used extensively by the "big boys" in bridge building, asphalt construction and concrete construction as well as in the rental of aerial platforms, for example. "Not to mention the government. It is mainly these types of companies that are very aware of regulations and legislation and can comply with them in this way." With a loading floor height of 35 cm and a ramp angle of about 12 degrees, it can be loaded low. The cargo box has a length of 4 meters and a width of 180 cm. "Aerial platform, forklift, excavator, wheel loader ... even a small tractor can be transported with this," concludes Veldhuizen.
