Takeuchi indoor turners: compact and powerful

They are the 1.7-tonne semi-bincher TB217R and the 5.7-tonne barge TB257FR. What makes these inner-turners from Takeuchi truly unique is the offset boom technology.

The offset boom technology is a patented Takeuchi system, which we also see on the new TB257FR. This concept allows you to work in a narrow passage or space at the front of the machine (for example, shoveling) and unload at the rear of the machine without having to move the machine. This distinguishes this machine from the regular inside-turners in the market.

Binnertrailer TB257FR, like its bigger brother, features a very spacious cab.

TB257FR

The TB257FR is the replacement for the successful model TB153FR. Production of this old type had been running since 2006, but it was now time for an upgrade to the next generation. The main reason for developing the new 5.7 ton barge loader was, that it had to be equipped with a new engine. The TB257FR is equipped with an EU Stage 5 engine including particulate filter and thus meets all legal emission requirements. Of course, that is not the only point in which this machine has been improved; in terms of design and construction, this indoor turner incorporates remarkably many features of its bigger brother, the TB280FR. Some examples include:

- Just like the 8-tonner, this inland contractor has a very spacious cab. It is a lot wider and longer than its predecessor, which ensures that the operator experiences more working comfort.
- The tilt cab is tilted three degrees more than before. This does not seem like much; but this allows even better access to service components.
- In addition, the display is larger (5.7 inches) and more modern You can also set the liters of the first and second hydraulic function on it.

Another major point of improvement in the development of the TB257FR was the traction force of the tracks. This has been increased by as much as 19 percent, greatly increasing accessibility to difficult terrain.

TB217R

The TB217R is a newcomer, this semi-bin excavator replaces the TB215R. The stability of the TB217R mini excavator has been increased even further by applying the extended undercarriage of the TB215R and by adding counterweight to the bottom and rear of the cab. This makes this 1.7-ton excavator well prepared for the use of heavier attachments, such as a tilt head or similar.

What else makes this machine unique in its class? It comes standard with three hydraulic auxiliary functions. Of these, two are double-acting for the purpose of a demolition sorting grapple or any other attachments. The third additional function is used for the hydraulic quick coupler.

Assortment

Takeuchi's range features four (semi-)interior excavators. In addition to the TB257FR (5840 kg), the TB280FR (8650 kg) is also available. And the Takeuchi range also has a smaller semi-inswing excavator variant besides the TB217R (1690 kg): the TB210R (1075 kg).
